History of Building
Ashbury Elementary School, home of the Knights, opened its doors in 2020 as one of the newest additions to the Papillion La Vista Community Schools district. Proudly displaying green and silver as its colors, the school was built as part of the 2018 Bond project to address the growing elementary student population in the western portion of the district.
Designed to accommodate 450-500 students, Ashbury Elementary was constructed to meet the educational needs of the rapidly expanding community. The school incorporates modern educational design principles, focusing on creating flexible learning spaces that support collaborative and innovative teaching methods.
As with all schools in the district, Ashbury Elementary embodies the motto "Be Known for Greatness" through its commitment to providing a high-quality education in a safe and nurturing environment. The school features state-of-the-art technology infrastructure and security measures, aligning with the district's focus on student safety and technological advancement.
Since its opening in 2020, Ashbury Elementary has been working to establish its own unique identity and traditions within the Papillion La Vista Community Schools family. The Knights mascot symbolizes strength, honor, and a commitment to excellence, values that the school strives to instill in its students. The curriculum emphasizes core academic subjects while also incorporating STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) initiatives to prepare students for future challenges.
Despite its short history, Ashbury Elementary is already playing a crucial role in serving the educational needs of the western part of the district and contributing to the overall excellence of Papillion La Vista Community Schools. As it continues to grow and evolve, Ashbury Elementary remains committed to developing well-rounded, high-achieving students prepared for future success.
